Thanh Hoa province in Vietnam is the largest in the country and is located 150 kilometres from Hanoi. As well as the stunning beaches – we are fans of San Som Beach – there are also two national parks. Ben En Ntional Park is focused on preserving rare plants, including over 300 herbs that are used in traditional medicine. There is also plenty of wildlife ... More>to see here too: snakes, spiders, birds and furry mammals. Pu Luong Nature reserve is a great place for biking and trekking. One of the more unusual sites in Thanh Hoa is the Cam Luong Fish Stream, where the fish are protected from being caught by a legend involving a genie. These fish, so many it looks like a river of swimmers rather than water, come out of the cave near the waterway every morning and then return at sunset. It’s a must see in the province. The area also boasts a World Cultural Heritage Site: Ho Dynasty Citadel, a fortress dating back to the 14th century. With all this to see, don’t spend your time holed up at your hotel in Thanh Hoa Province!
