Phu Yen Province is a city by the sea in central Vietnam and is also the eastern most point of the country. Tuy Hoa City is the capital city of the province, but still retains a relaxed beachside town feel despite the rapid modernisation that is taking place. The city is blessed with a clean white sand beach and two hills containing Champa temples. Nhan Mountian ... More>in particular offers a fantastic vista of the surrounding area. Transportation is especially easy in Phu Yen thanks to the airport and train station based in Tuy Hoa City and the National expressway that snakes its way through the province. Tuy Hoa North domestic airport is 8 km inland from the city, and although it is a small facility with limited carrying capacity there are regular scheduled flights operating from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Phu Yen Province is 125 km north of Nha Trang and 500 km south of the ancient capital of Hue so this area is often overlooked for more famous locations, but those that do make the effort will be rewarded with a diverse range of hotels, relaxed locals, sea views and excellent seafood.
