Dien Bien Phu City Hotels

Remote Dien Bien Phu lies in Muong Thanh valley, a 20-km-long and six-km wide basin in northwestern Vietnam a mere 34 kilometres from the Laos border. The town has some 120,000 inhabitants.\n\nThe events of the first Indochina War cast long shadows over Dien Bien Phu as the area witnessed the capitulation of the French in 1954. In actual fact, besides the French command bunkers and a war museum there is very little else to see or do in this small town but the overland trip to reach it is more than worth making as it is spectacular.
