Pleasantly surprised by the quality of accommodation, service and facilities. Excellent value for money. Not a beach hotel but large swimming pool in pleasant surroundings.
Nice hotel, good pool area, only a couple of minutes to the quite part of jomtien beach with taxi (hop on hop off) sang theow for only 10baht. Own security and very silent at nights. Nice junior suite pool access for 2500baht.
We've been here twice, both times when we wanted to get out of Bangkok quickly (redshirt protests; risk of flooding). The rooms are great value, clean and spacious with a kitchen area. The staff are lovely. Although the pool outside our room was small and shaded, two bigger pools are available in other parts of the property, which could be important if you have kids. Nice spa. Please be aware that this hotel is not very near the beach and off a busy road so it lacks any wow factor re location -- although it is quiet and convenient for supermarket/ nice restaurants. Personally i regretted buying the breakfast voucher upfront as choice inflexible -- better to order from room service. All in all Chateau Dale works well if you don't mind uninspiring location -- and is particularly good if you want space and the option of self catering and value-for-money.
