Good hotel. Great service.

2.5
The resort was not what we expected. Service was slow, and we had to ask for fresh towels to be sent to the room each day. The menu is poor for a hotel of this price, with very little choice, and very slow service. The buffet breakfast was one of the worst I have encountered in Asia.

We were very disappointed because we had been traveling Thialnd for about three weeks. We always stayed in hotels that were cheaper than Samed Club but this wasby far the worst room. Room was clean that is all. We were really chocked to see the room: on the picture it seemed much more luxurious. In reality this seems more a beachhut. I would give the room a 3 on 10 compared to the pictures on internet and brochures. Swimmingpool was OK. Staff was very very friendly but they could not help it that the prices in the hotel ware that high so they could not sell us boattrips , massages, diners.... Boattrp they offered was 5,000 baht for 1-6 persons. We took the same boattrip in a local shop at 50 metres from the hotel at 350 baht!! e stayed there 4 nights because in low season fourth night was free. We regretted that a lot because for that free night we were obliged to pay 300 baht for beakfast which is enormous because is wat a normal breakfast (no bad but we got breakfasts far better and for less money). Cocktails were expensive and the price mentioned was excluded 7% VAt and 10% service! But the staff did their best and were very friendly. They cannot help it. We woukd never go back to Koh Samet:Thailasn is so beautiful and it was a pity we lost five days there. One day would have been OK. We wanted to stay there at the end of our holidays in orde to relax but the room was very disppointing: though nicely located beachfront, but next to the pier so we though we would have been more isolated: everybody passing from the pier had to pass our rooms - now ist was lowseason but we can imagine that in high season it would have been extremely disturbing!. Fortunately there were two very good very cheap restaurants in the neighboorhood: the German and the very nice Englishman with excellent food at a normal Thai price.
