Devasom is a lovely place to rest and relax - which is exactly what we were looking for. I cannot think of a single part of the stay that I didn't like. We could only book 2 nights but wanted 4. I called the owner after we checked into our alternative resort just to check if there was any space for us for another 2 nights. We did not want to leave. I will now make sure I book in advance to get the nights we require and not have to move to another hotel.
Nice decoration but needs to improve on services. Should not charge in-house guest for a bucket of ice.
The Devasom is a new (June 2010) boutique hotel that has wonderful charm and welcoming staff. There are 24 rooms so the place is small enough to get to know most of the staff and visitors over a few days. The chef comes out to greet you at meal-times and the owner is happy to engage in conversation. The layout of the hotel is wonderful with all units overlooking the centre piece, salt-water cleaned, pools. Even during inclement weather, this site looks fantastic. Highly recommended for a weekend/3 day getaway from Bangkok. Perhaps the only drawback is that the Devasom is a 6 km distance from Hua Hin. This could be seen as a plus for some, but if you come by car then this will not seem an issue.
