Angkhang Nature Resort

Developed as a part of the Royal Angkhang Research Station, under the Royal Project Foundation, Angkhang Nature Resort is a comfortable 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai. The mountain location, cool climate and the scenic beauty of the surrounding countryside make the resort an ideal getaway for nature lovers to enjoy birdwatching, trekking, mountain-biking or simply breathing in the fresh mountain air. Rooms are airy with all amenities complemented by a fireplace for a relaxing ambiance.

The Royal Angkhang Research Station was set up in 1969 under the auspices of His Majesty King Bhumibol. It is primarily a research centre focusing on crop substitution to develop new crops for the Hill tribes. The result is a wider variety of marketable produce and sustainable income in a region which was previously cash-poor and dependent on growing illegal opium as its major source of income.
