I arrived at 1am from the airport and they put me into a smelly, windowless room in an older building, not the tower that you see in their Internet pictures. I changed rooms the next day but my wife and I had to deal with 2 twin beds now. The furniture and decor was dated. The safe in both rooms didnt work. You need to sign into the wifi every time you are away from your computer for a few minutes. The cleaning staff is angry. The finess center opens at 7am, but if you go there at 7 they will tell you to come back at 8.
Overall, Windsor is a decaying, massive hulk of a hotel that can't get anything quite right, except perhaps the pool, which was lovely. Once our 6 day reservation was up, we moved down the street a short distance and got a much newer, cleaner, and friendlier hotel for the same price.

After living in Thailand for 11 years I have grown not to expect service up to Western standards in hotels with anything less than a 5+* rating, I am pleased to say that Windsor suites is an exception.

My wife and I recently stayed there after a nightmare few days at another local hotel, what a refreshing experience it turned out to be, check-in was smooth, we were offered an upgrade which turned out to be a fantastic suite on the 26th floor which offered great city views. The room albeit a little old was spotless, a very comfortable bed, two televisions and a nice lounge area with ample space to use the coffee making facilities.

The hotel affords more than adequate 24 hr security, it boasts 3/4 restaurants (we did not use them, as there are many restaurant nearby to sample). The staff spoke very good English and went out of their way to make our stay as stress free as possible, we actually extended our stay by a day because we were enjoying our stay there.

The Front Office Manger Ms Supawadee Srihanam was wonderful, she speaks perfect English and goes out of her way to resolve any query that may arise, all in all a wonderful experience one which I hope to take advantage of when I next visit Bangkok.

There was one subject that I mentioned to her that was of the hotels policy of internet use, at the moment you are only given one internet password, I mentioned to her that in my opinion this was insufficient particularly when most couples will both have appliances that they wish to use.

She welcomed my comment and said that she would take the matter up with the owners, I have no reason to doubt that this will not be done.

Many thanks to Supawadee and her staff for turning around what started off as a nightmare week in Bangkok, keep up the good work.
