As you enter via the French doors you are greeted by a trio of stag heads on the wall above the reception and a stuffed peacock in the library. The eclectic decor of the place wont suit everyone, but for those who have imagined what it would be like to walk into the pages of a Somerset Maugham novel, you can finally stop dreaming. The owner has travelled throughout Southeast Asia to put together a wonderful collection of fixtures, ornaments and even light switches from the post-colonial era. The aim of The Eugenia is to feel more like a home than a hotel, and the service and facilities reflect that. There is no check-in or out time, breakfast is served when you are ready and the staff welcome you like long-lost relatives.

The aim of The Eugenia is to feel more like a home than a hotel, and the service and facilities reflect that. There is no check-in or out time, breakfast is served when you are ready and the staff welcome you like long-lost relatives.

No room is the same at the Eugenia, with 12 cosy rooms spread over two floors each with a collection of one-of-a-kind furnishing; even the floorboards are from another era. By keeping the colours neutral the designers highlight the stars of the hotel - beautiful teak wardrobes, vintage writing desks and imposing four-poster beds. The real pleasure of a stay here is that everything has a story, and even the bathrooms are from another time, with impressive if slightly impractical beaten aluminium or copper bathtubs. The modern world makes an appearance with discreet wall-mounted TVs in the rooms, a mini-fridge, Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel and present-day high quality linens on the beds, these extra thoughts to modern comfort only add to the charm of The Eugenia.

This Hotel is recommended for: >> Vintage Lovers, >> Couples

What you should know:
- Located on a quiet soi, 15 minutes walk from Sukhumvit and the MRT and BTS
- Free Tuk Tuk shuttle to Asoke and Sukhumvit stations
- Quirky design that may not be suited to everyone
- 24 hour butler service available
- Despite the vintage feel, modern touches like Wi-Fi, TVs and fridges in all the rooms

The Eugenia was a haven for us. Traveling to Bangkok for the first time with my husband and 21 yr old daughter from Australia we loved our stay at the Eugenia. The exquisite decor filled with quirky antiquities, luxurious bed and bath and exceptional customer service combined to make a memorable experience that we will treasure forever. Phong at the desk went above and beyond what we expected and treated us like we were family. I would highly recommend the Eugenia and hope to return in the future toourhome in Bangkok

a perfect oasis in the middle of bgk. the only thing i'd like to mention ist that the staff does not at all act with environmental awareness. the hotel itself was cooled down very much (ac) and the doors to the swimming pool area always open. this makes no sense at all
