Seven was born of a partnership between legendary UK design firm Studio Output (whose work includes Ministry of Sound in London), renowned Thai architect Komsuree Komintre of Cubism Studio and award-winning Thai landscape designer Piyachanok Wijarn (spearhead of Cindy Crawford’s residence in Malibu and Leonardo DiCaprio’s boutique hotel in Belize). Combining tranquility and convenience, Seven is neatly tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac just five-minutes walk from Phrom Phong BTS skytrain station in the heart of Bangkok. This facilitates easy access to all of the city’s major sights, from one of the most fashionable and happening parts of town. The trendy Sukhumvit area is home to an endless variety of art galleries, bars, fashion boutiques, high-end shopping malls and world-class restaurants. ... [+] More

Seven is a place for the privileged few, with just six couture rooms on four levels. It epitomizes the feeling of a stay in a stylish private home rather than a hotel – a home that is modern, but ultimately very Thai. The multi-purpose ‘seventh space’ - reception/art gallery/bar/lounge and each of the six guest rooms are inspired by the deep-rooted Thai tradition of relating each day of the week to a specific god of the planets. Each space is designed around a different colour, featuring red, yellow, pink, green, orange, blue and purple - the colours associated with each of the seven gods found in ancient Indian astrology.

Sunday is red for the Sun god Phra Arthit.
Monday is yellow for the Moon god Phra Charn.
Tuesday is pink for the Mars god Phra Angkarn.
Wednesday is green for the Mercury god Phra Phut.
Thursday is orange for the Jupiter god Phra Pareuhat.
Friday is sky blue for the Venus god Phra Suk.
Saturday is purple for the Saturn god Phra Sao.

Some of the privileges of being a guest at Seven include a bar/lounge/gallery in the lobby area so you can sip a glass of Mangostini while checking out the art by talented Asian-based artists while checking in, a Sun Deck to work on your tan, a Tranquility Balcony to get back to that book you’ve been meaning to read, complimentary use of a local mobile phone during your stay (so you can get your concierge to book your dinner table while you are out shopping) and free wi-fi internet access hotel-wide.

Each separate area at Seven features not just a unique colour scheme, but also theme and style. The design blends contemporary style and sensuality refined by an unmistakable Thai touch. The concept diverges completely from that of predictable chain hotels and shuns the ‘pond, lotus leaves and stone statue’ clichés that characterize the Asian Spa look. Seven serves as a stylish home base for discerning travelers to Thailand’s ‘City of Angels’.
