The location of this hotel can't be beat--it's just steps from the Phrom Phong BTS station. There is also a wonderful (and cheap) Thai restaurant on the street just outside. The price is right, and the internet is reliable.
There are, however, some drawbacks that guests should be aware of. First, the breakfast is exclusively western food, with no protein whatsoever (basically toast, cereal, and fruit). The restaurant outside (and other food available nearby) will make up for this, though, for those who want a serious meal early in the morning.
Other issues: service and amenities have been going downhill over the past months (I have stayed at this hotel at least ten times). In the economy rooms, they no longer supply drinking water!!! (this is unbelievable in a country where you can't drink the tap water; and this is the only hotel in Thailand where I've ever experienced this; there's a Family Mart just around the corner, but still...) Also, on all three days that I spent there, towels were taken away but not replaced. They promised to bring a bathmat ("they'll be available only by 8 pm"), but never did. And the standards of cleanliness leave something to be desired. (why do they not clean off the mold in the bathrooms and the smudges on the walls?)
Aside from that, it should be pointed out that even the cheapest rooms have a refrigerator, and a desk (with a comfortable chair) for working. The lighting is poor, but the cable TV is great for news coverage in many languages (but if you want English movies, as a friend of mine did, you'll be out of luck).
At this hotel you get more than you pay for, but it helps to be aware of the drawbacks in advance so you can plan ahead. Bring your own water!

Poor experience during check-in.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Service was pretty bad, during check-in as well as housekeeping. (receptionist was not friendly at all, not what i expect from my previous experience with Thai people). Shampoo/shower gel were not replenished even after asking repeatedly.
Place was a little noisy as there was construction beside.

Some amenities information was incorrect. No hair dryer, robe or slippers included in the room. No English movie channels like HBO or Max available either. Location is good with an inexpensive Thai restaurant, 2 convenience stores, Prom Pong Skytrain station and The Emporium shopping mall nearby.
