If you want a reasonably priced room with a river view, this is a good place to stay. However, the rooms are nothing special, the carpet is low grade commericial type, there are very little facilities and the hotel is quite far from the local BTS station at Saphan Taksin (almost 2 miles if not more).
The hotel is a bit further away from the Water Taxi station No 1 than I had thought when booking but taxis and bus No 1 are available at or very near the hotel (and inexpensive). The staff is very accommodating, gracious and try very hard to please. The hotel offers a full breakfast and they succeed in covering all the international food taste points with much success. The restaurant was also very good deal as to price and quality. The staff also recommended two nearby restaurants that were very good. Of the two, "Good View" at the end of Charon Krung(sp?) was by far the best one. The building may be starting to show it's age but rooms are clean and our was spacious. I would consider this hotel again if another trip to Bangkok is in my future.
