About the Hotel
Hotel Facilities
The 396-room Chatrium Riverside Hotel offers a relaxed and luxurious stay in Bangkok with all the facilities you would expect of five-star premises: penthouse-style business centre, sparklingly clean gym and the Nemita Spa for some professional pampering. All fine so far, but what makes this towering hotel stand out is its riverside location and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the vibrant Chao Praya River as a backdrop. There are two on-site restaurants offering dim-sum on the 36th floor and world cuisine on the ground floor with seating inside and out. The stylish contemporary decor is designed to reflect Bangkoks boating heritage and service is a shining example of warm and helpful Thai hospitality.

Rooms at Chatrium are large in size and feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows create a light and airy feel in every room and make for amazing views when you wake up in the morning. The entry-level Grand Rooms are still 60sqm which allow space for basic cooking facilities and balconies big enough to actually walk out and enjoy the view. For families or large groups, the Two Bedroom Suites are 120sqm with en-suite bathrooms and two balconies offering different views of the river or city centre. What Bangkok lacks in terms of a coastline or mountain range, it makes up for with the Chao Praya River and Chatrium Riverside Hotel is ideally placed to make the most of it.

What we loved:
- Unsurpassed views of Bangkoks meandering riverside
- Contemporary Thai style decor
- Dedicated pier and shuttle ferry to transport you downtown

About the Hotel
Hotel Facilities
lebua at State Tower is a luxury five star hotel in Bang Rak, close to Silom business district and the mighty Chao Phraya River. The facilities at this property are truly special and will leave guests with many memories and even more magnificent photos of probably the best view of the meandering river and rolling cityscape that Bangkok has to offer. Saphan Taksin BTS Skytrain Station is just five minutes walk away from the hotel as is Sathorn Pier with free shuttle ferries to Asiatique Night Market, and several ferries heading towards the Old Town of the city, home of many majestic temples and the Grand Palace. Guestrooms and Suites at lebua at State Tower have a luxuriant touch with both the stunning views from private balconies and the classically style furniture. All 357 spacious rooms feature a large living area with flat screen television, DVD player, a thick-cushioned sofa, fitted kitchen, and private bedroom with ensuite bathroom. As nice as the rooms are, the main difference between lebua at State Tower and other top end hotels in the city is the quality of the dining and leisure facilities: the top three floors of the hotel are given over to luxury dining and guests can enjoy fine dining, European cuisine, and pan Asian cusine as well as some of the most magnificent cocktails you will ever try. Other than that there is a free form swimming pool, large fitness centre, and lobby lounge.

About the Hotel
Hotel Facilities
Set on a massive plot of land along the banks of the Chao Praya River, Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa provides enough reasons to never leave the hotel, with 11 separate restaurants and bars, beautiful pool area fringed by palms, tennis court and fully equipped gym with planned activities. Add to this the famous Anantara Spa with a range of treatments and Crayon, a staffed childrens playroom, and you have activities to please the whole family. With many elements of Thai design mixed with a profusion of wood and high ceilings straight from the colonial era, the low-rise resort feels separated from the hustle of downtown Bangkok, even though it is only a 15 minute boat ride to the pier and BTS Station at Saphan Taksin.

Rooms are similarly decorated in a colonial era style, with a dark wood design, Thai art on the walls and a private balcony looking out towards either a tropical forest or the Chao Praya River. They do keep up with the times however, with an iPod dock in every room along with WiFi, TV and DVD player. Deluxe Rooms are 38 sqm and, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, receive plenty of natural light. Deluxe Premier rooms are more recently renovated and feel slightly more opulent, although the whole hotel has been executed perfectly for guests who want to sample a relaxing and traditional side of Bangkok.

- 11 separate restaurants and bars including Italian, Polynesian, Japanese cuisine
- Anantara evening dinner and cruise on a restored antique rice barge
- Kids club with activities timetable, games consoles and a dedicated staff free for all guests
- Famous Anantara Spa for onsite pampering

What you should know:
- Not a central location
- On the opposite side of the river from Bangkok
- 12 meeting rooms and tailored business event service
- Two separate check-in lobbies for package and private guests
- The Premier rooms have been recently refurbished, although the non-premier rooms are still well designed, stylish and comfortable

Enjoy over 2000 full-content Newspapers and Magazines form over 100 countries on your tablet, smartphone or laptop. Available free of charge to all guests while staying at Shanghai Mansion, Bangkok from 1 November 2013 onward.

Located amongst the traders and temples of Chinatown, a stay at this Shanghai in the 1930s hotel will be unlike anything you have ever experienced - unless you were actually living in Shanghai in the 1930s. The concept design grabs you upon entry to the lobby with velvet drapes, Chippendale leather sofas and chandeliers all laid out like a merchants drawing room. As you sip your welcome tea and refresh with a peppermint-infused cold towel you can appreciate the mix of antique furniture and specially designed faux-vintage pieces that ensure that the execution of Shanghai Mansion is so absolute - infectious, even - you would be forgiven for dancing a waltz through the lobby to your wood panelled door. The seven storey Shanghai Mansion may have limited facilities, especially the lack of a swimming pool and fitness centre, but the Gallery is a fun fancy dress activity for all ages, and the vaulted ballroom on the top floor is breathtaking.

The three room types offer the same dreamlike escape as the public areas, with classic upholstered furniture, four poster beds and Chinese lanterns redolent of the past and yet tempered with bold injections of colour to create a playful ambiance. The entry level Superior Room (Mei Hua) measures a cosy 29 sqm, but in that space they have not spared on fixtures. LCD TVs are in all rooms and guests can help themselves to the free minibar, although if you want to relax its more fun to enjoy a game of Chinese checkers or Jenga while relaxing on lounge chairs on the second floor veranda. For something truly extra special, try the unique Suites (Mu Dan) that measure 49 sqm, with a bespoke day bed, latticed wall divide and deep soak bath. The aquamarine, pink and red colours are bold yet the result is pure romance. Shanghai Mansion is absolutely the best place to stay in Chinatown for location, service and sheer fun.

About the Hotel
Hotel Facilities
Guests to the 37 storey Peninsula Hotel will be impressed by the palatial colonial charm but its the faultless service and attention to detail that really awes and sets the benchmark for premium luxury hotels to strive towards. Shoes are polished at the touch of a button; your preferred newspaper is noted and delivered each morning, and your favourite breakfast spot is remembered for the duration of your stay. Every request is fulfilled and nothing needs to be asked for twice. This is the superior treatment guests can expect at The Peninsula. The breakfast buffet in The River Cafe - with a beautiful setting beside the Chao Phraya on one side and lawn on the other - offers a suitably impressive start to the day, while five further restaurants on site each provide something different. Two standout experiences that must be tried at The Peninsula are afternoon tea in The Lobby and the dim-sum in Mei Jiang Cantonese Restaurant. Add to all this one of the finest Spas in the city and you have a complete package of unrestrained luxury that seems to blow through The Peninsula like a gentle breeze.

Rooms have a seamless blend of ultra-modern facilities with a plush timeless character, each with uninterrupted views of the majestic Chao Phraya River. Spacious bathrooms with two wash basins and vanity mirrors, and separate bath (with built in television) and shower continue the theme of prestige that instantly impresses upon the guest as they walk into the entrance hall. Deluxe Rooms are around 46sqm making them some of the largest in the city, and afford space for an executive working desk, sofa and coffee table. The rooms in The Peninsula are tastefully decorated and comfortable, shunning current fashion trends for a timeless look of teak wood and muted tones. For those who want a closer connection to the Bangkok riverside, Balcony Rooms on the higher floors offer a comfortable outdoor space with breathtaking views of Bangkok and the activity on the river, the perfect view for a relaxing drink after a day of exploring. Even though The Peninsula is on the opposite side of the river to downtown Bangkok, their three dedicated shuttle ferries are on hand to link guests to the nearby BTS skytrain system in minutes.

About the Hotel
Hotel Facilities
There is a sense of prestige that pervades Lebua Hotel and especially the Tower Club room category housed on the 51st to 59th floors with the infamous Hangover Suite at the top (a reference to the coming-of-age movie about the exploits of bachelor party gone wrong). Entry level 1 Bedroom Suites start from 66 sqm, and each features a colonnaded balcony for enjoying the unforgettable view. The 2 and 3 Bedroom Suites increase massively in size to 176 sqm and 266 sqm respectively, giving room for a full kitchen, en suite, three separate balconies and large living and dining room. Furnished in a classic style, decor is more comfortable than chic: a welcoming space after a hard day shopping or tramping round the many temples and museums nearby. Just a few minutes walk from both Saphan Taksin BTS Station and Sathorn Central Pier in the Bangrak district of Bangkok, Lebua at State Towers location is excellent for sightseers and holidaymakers whose plan will take them to many areas of the city.

There is a real emphasis on standout restaurants and bars at Lebua, and the golden dome at the top of the property is given over entirely to this pursuit: Mezzaluna on the 65th floor serves four or seven course menus based around the most innovative European cuisine. On the 63rd floor you will find Sky Bar and Sirocco, offering al fresco Mediterranean fare, cocktails and oh-so-pretty panoramas of the city. There is also an amazing cocktail bar called Distil and a pan-Asian restaurant called Breeze. It is undeniable that the views from Sirocco or Distil rooftop bars are stunning; it is regrettable that success has led to overcrowding and the need for segregating diners from those who are merely visiting for a cocktail (albeit a very good 500 baht cocktail). The focus on spacious suites and cutting edge cuisine has meant that the lobby is a little squeezed, and other facilities tick all the boxes of a premium five star hotel without ever really wowing. The business centre, outdoor swimming pool and large gym with personal trainers are all pleasant rather than spectacular.

This Hotel is recommended for: Couples, Sightseeing, Groups, Foodies

What we loved:
- Three excellent restaurants and rooftop cocktail bar - among the best in Bangkok, in fact
- All rooms have balconies from which to enjoy some of the best views of the city
- Spacious suites with full kitchens and an abundance of comfortable seating
- Many excellent local street-food stalls surrounding the hotel
- Well-maintained guest facilities include a large asymmetrical pool, staffed fitness centre and spa

What you should know:
- Five minutes walk to the Saphan Taksin BTS Station and the Chao Phraya River central pier
- Traffic in this area can be congested during rush hours
