Just minutes walk from the pier at Pra Athit, Riva Surya is a visual delight, with as much consideration put into the hotels public spaces as the rooms. French windows open on to a large courtyard behind the hotel, with a swimming pool and plenty of room to lounge, either on the daybeds that fringe the river or under the shaded veranda. Babble and Rum restaurant and bar is the ideal location for a riverside evening drink or a hearty plate of high-quality Thai or Western fare. There are also plenty of decent restaurants and bars in this area, and famous backpacker street Khao San Road is only five minutes walk away. Riva Surya is handy for visits to the Grand Palace and surrounding temples but getting into town is a little trickier, either by taxi or taking the river boat, which runs until 7pm and takes around 20 minutes to the pier near Sapphan Taksin BTS. ... All 68 rooms are decorated in muted shades. Urban rooms face quiet leafy Pra Athit Street, with shuttered balconies that offer a private space to sit outdoors and watch the world go by. Riva corner rooms offer a fabulous 90 degree view of the river, but our pick is the Deluxe Riva Rooms with balconies that overlook the river. All rooms are well-equipped, with large flat-screen TVs, Ipod decks, DVD players and a substantial desk area. Frosted glass encloses the chic bathroom and walk-in shower. Careful thought has been put into the decor and furnishings: modern rocking chairs, cosy armchairs, luxury linen and soft lighting make these rooms a pleasure to spend time in.

Even if my first night was a nightmare in the Bangkok's roads, they help me to breath and make me feel right and continue my trip in good mind being.
Thanks to all the people (Tuy and Man for example ^^)

Lovely, brand new hotel in a great location right on the river and walking distance to the Grand Palace, Khao San Road etc. Good access to the ferry service as well. We were kindly upgraded to a premium river view room on arrival for our 'honeymoon', which was actually our 2yr wedding anniversary but they must've just confused it with all the other honeymooners. Room was lovely and very big with decent sized balcony facing the river, however we were asked to pay the extra 1,500 baht for the upgrade on checkout!! Explained to the lady we were given the upgrade and would've been perfectly happy with the room we booked so we weren't paying the extra but still waiting to cross check my credit card statement as they also put a 9,000 baht hold on my card (which I thought was a little excessive for a one night stay). Otherwise, our stay was lovely and hassle free. Pool area is beautiful, however the actual pool was too warm to be refreshing. Was like getting in a warm bath.
