Showing available hotels in Ratchada Pisek |
A relatively unexciting road during the day, Ratchadaphisek is known around Bangkok for the entertainment it offers at night. With a well known night market, streets of pubs and bars teeming with young folk and the infamous massage parlours, this huge road is where people come to let off some steam.
Ratchada Night Bazaar is arguably the true highlight of ... More>the area on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Essentially a giant parking lot filled with stuff for sale, the market specialises in retro and vintage objects, cars, clothes, electronics and anything else that was made a long time ago. It's superb fun purely for the nostalgic treats it provides. However, if it's more regulated shopping you're after, head to the nearby Esplanade mall for clothes and brand names or Fortune Tower for anything computer related. The Metro runs straight under the length of Ratchadaphisek and this makes it simple to travel around the road and to other parts of Bangkok from your Ratchada hotel.
For nightlife, this part of Bangkok is fairly relentless. Royal City Avenue (RCA) at the southern end of Ratchadaphisek is a dedicated strip of pubs and bars while Ratchada Soi four and six are both pretty similar in their Johnny Walker fuelled revelry. Our Ratchadaphisek hotels should help you recover from any hedonistic night out. Driving down this road, one can't help but notice the abundance of huge buildings emitting neon lights. These are the controversial massage parlours previously mentioned.
