Fantastic hotel. Great service and helpful staff.

5.0
Being my 3rd trip to Bangkok this year (yes, its only March), I must say my stay in Abloom was near perfect. I travelled with 3 other girls, 2 who arrived with me on a Thursday late night, and another who arrived on a Friday evening. My 2 friends and I were greeted with such great service on the first night, despite it being 1am in the morning, and were quickly brought to our rooms as soon as check in was done. As it was late at night as well, they didn't pester us about payment, and we only gave our credit cards the next day.

BOOKING: Although the slight problem was that the room we first went to was not upgraded, despite being reassured that I had a free upgrade when booking through asiawebdirect, it was very quickly fixed by the hotel. They told me I could change room the next day without an argument. (I have stayed at hotels that question your booking when it's not done directly with the hotel) Despite the room not being upgraded, they got everything down to the tee though, I had requested for an extra bed, and upon check in was informed that it had already been set up and the room was ready for us (also another problem I've had with other hotels, they only make the extra bed when they've showed you the room)

ROOMS: On to the rooms, the room we got before the upgrade was actually already very spacious, and we were glad to have had such a big space, especially for the price we were paying, just fantastic. (: Toilets were CLEAN, which was a MAJOR RELIEF and such joy, as hotel toilets are like on my list of "to-check" before booking a hotel. The upgrade to the one-bedroom apartment was just fantastic, the room was even more spacious, and as my other friend did not get a promo when she booked, the two of them were constantly in my room, and it fit the 4 of us very comfortably. The beds were comfy, though could do with more pillows. TV worked fine(could do with more channels), fridge/microwave/kettle all working, aircons were great too. Slight issue was that we requested for twin sharing but we got a QUEEN size bed on the first night, and a KING size bed with the upgrade, we didn't complain or make a fuss as we were okay with it, but it might be something you might want to note. The Wifi was great, my friends were constantly checking their emails/updating facebook, all 4 of us logged on to the room wifi, and it worked great. Sometimes a bit cranky, but not too bad.

LOCATION: Although it is not in the heart of Bangkok (Siam/Ploenchit/Asok,etc), the accessibility makes it so perfect. Sanam Pao BTS was just literally a 5min walk out through the shortcut that the staff are more than willing to bring you to, or even tuktuk you out (literally a 2 min ride) and from the BTS, you are 4 stops away from Mo Chit (Jatujak / JJ Market as locals all it), and 4 stops away from Siam (Siam Paragon / Siam Square / MBK)! Besides, in Bangkok, it's always good to take the train, jams are a real annoyance, and haggling for cab fares / tuktuks can be a chore too. The 7-11 is located by the BTS as well, so stocking up on things / food / drinks were easy! As I mentioned we travelled as 4 girls, and despite walking to the 7-11 in the middle of the night as just a pair we felt really safe. One of the days I even went out shopping on my own, and I felt so at home. (:

STAFF / SERVICE: The service has to be applauded. They were so friendly, so smiley and so helpful! (: Whenever my friends wanted to take cabs out, they would advise on whether or not it would be a bad timing cause of the jam, if not get us a taxi really quickly. If there were no taxis, they tuktuk-ed us out to the main road, and waited with us til we got a cab and told them where to bring us to. The staff were also very honest and trustworthy as well. My laptop was always lying around the room when we went out, and despite it being so easy for them to take, (I normally lock it in my luggage) nothing was ever taken, our passports were in my bag that I left on the table and that was all good too. But 2 instances made my friends and I just so amazed -
1. One of my friends had left her iphone4 to charge at the front desk while waiting for our airport pick up, and we left without realising we had left it behind. But the front desk staff came after me to remind me to take it.
2. We had just left the hotel in the cab, and there was a slight jam just on the main road(we were stuck for about 5-10mins), which for once was a great thing, cause the porter appeared on the tuktuk beside us and knocked on the window, asking if we had left something behind. All of us were in shock, convinced we had taken everything he called the front desk, and informed us that it was an iphone that we might have left behind. My friend checked her bag, and true enough, she had left it behind. We turned the cab around and the staff was waiting at the lobby with the iphone in hand. What surprised us the most was that he had chased us on the tuktuk! We were so stunned, yet so pleased at this excellent service, and I really commend the staff on being so honest. They could have easily taken the phone, but instead chased after us on a tuktuk!

Overall, I would say I had a more than pleasant stay in the apartments, the rooms were always clean, the beds always made, and excellent service. Thank you Abloom, I will most definitely be back soon! (:

// did not try the pool, but it looked clean and nice. (:

Clean rooms, ample space in our rooms, contemporary and modern designs. Located near the train station but still very peaceful. The breakfast provided could be a bit more generous.
