Seodaemun-gu Hotels

Seodaemun-gu is a gu/district on the north bank of Han River, just further north of Mapo-gu, neighbouring to Jung-gu and Jongno-gu in the east. In Korean, Seodaemun literally means “Great West Gate”. The gu is home to middle-upper class families. The gu has many places of interest e.g. Seodaemun Prison, a museum and former prison in Seodaemun-gu, used during the Japanese rule of Korea, Bongwonsa Buddhist temple, Dongnimmun Gate (1897), built to commemorate Korea's independence from Qing China.
