De Waterkant Hotels
The best word to describe this very fashionable area is ‘quaint’. Nestled on the slopes of Signal Hill and overlooking Table Bay and the City Bowl, De Waterkant with its narrow streets has a distinct European village feel to it. It lies in the historic Bo-Kaap area, and was built to house settlers in the 1700's. Nowadays it is considered a city hot-spot, thanks to a great location next to the CBD, Waterfront development, wonderful restaurants, boutique shopping, nightlife attractions and historical highlights like the Noon Gun (canon, actually) on Signal Hill. The rest of the city is easily accessible by car, and the area is particularly popular with single travellers and couples seeking a different or very romantic city experience.
