Soufriere, a fishing village, located on St Lucia; oozes with Caribbean character. Nestled next to one of the pitons, in what was once the caldera of a volcano, it offers true fun in the sun, holiday experiences for all. An absolute must on any visitor’s visit is to pay a visit to the local botanical gardens. Other interesting experiences in this eco-sensitive area, of mountains, sea and rainforest, include a meander through the centre of town. Here a sense of the old Caribbean still lingers. Though not the best on a shopping front; occasional treasures can be found. Top activities include visiting the volcano, sailing and snorkelling the clear waters nearby.
