Wotif Group lets the figures do the talking Latestays.com and Smartstays.com applaud top selling Phuket hotels

The results are out for the 2008 Wotif Group, Phuket awards, with top producing hotels through Asia Web Direct (AWD) booking sites Latestays.com and Smartstays.com, and destination portal Phuket.com, announced at an award ceremony today.

The turn out of 70+ hotel managers and executives to a cocktail event at the Twinpalms pleased Wotif Group's Executive General Manager for Asia, Jirapa (Sii) Eawsakul, who was happy to be hosting Wotif Group's first event in Phuket as a combined group.

"This is the first time we've held an event for our Phuket hotel partners since Wotif.com and AWD merged, and it is great to come together as a group and recognize those partners who have helped make our company a success.

"Phuket is a valued region for Asia Web Direct's booking portals Latestays.com and Smartstays.com, and with the support of our destinations portals like Phuket.com, we are able to attract many travelers to book with our local hotel partners," said Sii.

At the event, Holiday Inn Resort, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket, Katathani Phuket Beach Resort and Allamanda Laguna Phuket were announced as Top Producer hotels, having generated more than THB 15M in sales over the past financial year through Wotif Group websites.

In addition, Laguna Beach Resort, The Chedi, Novotel Phuket Resort, The Royal Phuket Yacht Club, JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Twinpalms Phuket and Deevana Patong Resort & Spa took home Valued Partner awards, having generated between THB10-15M over the same period.

"By using the different promotional avenues available and working closely with our team of product managers, these hotels have achieved exceptional sales for their properties through our websites"

"Wotif.com is another valuable distribution channel for our suppliers to sell more rooms to a wider audience, and I'm sure that next year's awards will be even more hotly contested," said Sii.

This was the third of five awards ceremonies for Wotif Group, with others to follow in Singapore and Hong Kong over the next two months.
