Wotif.com and Asia Web Direct award top-selling Thailand hotels
The first combined event for Wotif Group celebrates excellence
On the first day of the Olympics, accolades are already being handed out, with Wotif Group holding its first industry event to award top performing hotels from booking website Wotif.com and booking portals in the Asia Web Direct group of websites.
At a champagne breakfast at Déjà Vu restaurant at Pullman Bangkok King Power, more than 120 hotel managers and executives from Thailand gathered to find out the winners of these coveted awards.
Wotif Group’s Asian Business Unit CEO, Jirapa (Sii) Eawsakul said, “In some cultures this is a lucky day, but there is more than just luck involved in winning these awards.
“Our Product Managers work closely with each of our partners to help them get the most out of being listed on our sites and we are pleased to recognize those hotels that use our booking portals and promotional tools to produce exceptional results,” she added.
At the event, Wotif.com announced Customer Preferred Choice Award winners for Bangkok hotels who sold the most rooms through the site over the past twelve months, and the Prince Palace Hotel, Ramada D’MA Bangkok and President Solitaire took home the top three awards.
Windsor Suites Hotel was awarded as Wotif.com’s Star Performer for Bangkok - having averaged the most sales per month since listing on the site within the past twelve months - and Thavorn Beach Village Resort and Spa in Phuket took home the Thailand Top Producer Award - having sold the most rooms for any hotel in Thailand through Wotif.com.
“Wotif.com is the leading accommodation website in Australia and New Zealand and is rapidly growing in popularity in Asian countries, and these hotels have been extremely successful at using the site to capture accommodation bookers in these markets,” said Sii.
Asia Web Direct also awarded top performing hotels in Central and Northern Thailand, with Grand President Bangkok winning two Gold Awards for selling the most room nights and producing the highest revenue in Bangkok, and Centara Duangtawan Hotel in Chiang Mai (room nights) and Evason Hua Hin Resort and Six Senses Spa (revenue) taking home the Gold Awards for destinations outside Bangkok (except Southern Thailand).
The Davis Bangkok and Tim Boutique Hotel were awarded as top boutique hotels in Central and Northern Thailand, while Le Fenix Sukhumvit in Bangkok and Maninarakorn Hotel in Chiang Mai were announced as the Top New Hotels in the same regions.
“Asia Web Direct offers our hotel partners many different opportunities for promotion, through booking portals Latestays.com and Smartstays.com and many destination portals, and these properties have excelled at using these sites to produce great results for themselves and Wotif Group.
“Wotif.com and Asia Web Direct have operated separately for the past twelve months. However, there is now a definite sense of unity amongst the team, and I look forward to a fully integrated awards ceremony next year,” she added.
This event was the first of five awards ceremonies for Wotif Group, with others to be held in Phuket, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong over the next few months.
