Gdansk lies on the southern coast of Gdańsk Bay (of the Baltic Sea), in a metropolis with the spa town of Sopot, the city of Gdynia and suburban communities, which together outline a metropolitan area of Gdańsk or the Tricity. It is getting well known as its blend of complicated history and architectural beauty. Crowded with pavement cafés and gabled houses, it’s remarkably similar to Amsterdam, with drugged beer monsters being the only obvious missing link. Directly below, ulica Mariacka, with its café terraces, jewellery stands and orangey shops is Gdansk’s prettiest street.
