Dr. Maricel Paz happened upon what would become Crystal Paradise Resort, Spa and Winery in 1997 while on a medical mission to Narra in Southern Palawan. She was deeply impressed with the simple, natural, pristine beauty of Palawan and fell in love with a special spot by the ocean: A 12-hectare coconut grove, blessed with good water, tropical fruits and sandy beaches.

Crystal Paradise Resort Spa and Winery was born, as both a getaway place to relax and unwind amidst unspoiled natural beauty, and a place to experience the history and culture of the Philippines.

Across from the Crystal Paradise Cove are the different Palawan islands to explore. Arena Island (turtle sanctuary), and Rasa Island(bird sanctuary),are just a few places that offer island- hopping adventures. ... [+] More

Further east are the Tubbataha Reefs, beautiful twin a toll reefs that rate among the world's finest scuba destinations. Upland, towards Victoria Peak, visitors can trek up the famous Estrella Falls,a 38-tierred cascading tropical waterfall, for an exhilarating jungle eco-adventure.

A few aboriginal tribes, such as the Tagbanua up in Victoria Peak and the Tau't Bato in Rizal, still inhabit the highlands, living much as they did thousands of years ago. Nearby are the last virgin forests in the Philippines, as well as the Tabon Caves, site of the earliest known human habitation in Southeast Asia.

Palawan was a thriving hub of trade thousands of years ago. Early pottery, and Chinese porcelain are still found in the area, and many ancient artifacts can be seen at the Museum of Quezon and the Museum of Palawan in Puerto Princesa, as well as the National Museum of the Filipino People in Luneta, Manila.

Two kilometers from Crystal Paradise Resort, Spa and Winery is the town of Narra, the rice granary of Palawan. Traditionally, this area produced kaingin rice wine. Abundant local fruits and fresh water led Maricel to build a winery at the resort called Crystal Paradise Winery, producing tropical wines from mango, pineapple, banana, papaya, guava, cashew and many more. A must to experience for everyone is the fresh tuba, a naturally fermented coconut wine.

This Palawan resort and hotel is blessed with artesian wells. The underground mineral water is purified and filtered for wine making, and also bottled with the label Crystal Paradise Purified Mineral Water to provide safe and delicious drinking water to hospitals, restaurants, resorts, and hotels on the is land.

Crystal Paradise Resort Spa and Winery, designed by architect Bess Uybarretta, offers modern air-conditioned luxury with a Filipino flare furnished with a blend of bamboo, rattan, reeds, and other tropical woods, and accented with design elements of metal, shell, wood, stones, and leather.

The ambiance is non-pretentious and down to earth. You will feel natural in your bare feet as you relax by the Taklobo Pavilion, Pawikan Aqua Bar,Amihan Pool Villas, Seaview Villas, Katala Lodges, and the cabanas.
