Phu Quoc Island is a beautiful tropical paradise located off the west coast of Mekong Delta. While there are many stunning beaches and picturesque landscapes in the country, this one manages to set itself apart. What makes Phu Quoc Island truly special is that while it is a tourist destination, it is not exactly 'touristy.' This means that the place has yet to be commercialised: it is not overwhelmed by shops, hotels or other establishments.  Phu Quoc is made more appealing by the fact that it is quiet and undeveloped, mainly because one can appreciate the scenic sights even more. However, developments are under way for more tourist-friendly infrastructure. Other things worth exploring on the island include pearl farms, temples, waterfalls and the markets.  

There are more than a dozen beaches to visit in Phu Quoc Island. All of them have almost transparent, turquoise seas. The waters are also blessed with coral reefs and tropical fish of various designs and colours. This is why it is always a good idea to swim, snorkel and scuba-dive here, though relaxing and lounging by the beach are also great ways to spend time on the island.
