Phan Thiet

Phan Thiet is a city found in Binh Thuan Province, and is situated south of the Cam Ranh Bay on the southernmost part of Central Vietnam. There are some Cham ruins to see in the area, as Binh Thuan used to be a part of the Cham kingdom. The most notable Cham attraction in the area is the Cham Tower, a 13th century structure located on the road between the town and Mui Ne Beach. Most of the people who visit Phan Thiet come from Ho Chi Minh City, which is about three hours away. In fact, Phan Thiet serves as a nice weekend retreat away from the city formerly known as Saigon.

Tourists who are looking for a laid-back vacation in Vietnam need not look further than Phan Thiet. This town may be a quiet fishing port, but it is also a bustling getaway that offers beautiful scenery. In the past few years, the town has developed and became home to high-end resorts and cosy bungalow properties which welcome those travellers who choose to stay in Phan Thiet. 

It is interesting to note that Phan Thiet is also famous for nuoc mam, a local brand of fish sauce.
