Bukit Timah, which is primarily residential, is the highest and most expensive district in the city-state. This area, which is situated to the immediate west of the city centre, is book-ended by two of Singapore's most beautiful green spaces: Botanic Gardens and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. The first is a perfect spot to have a picnic or just walk around and forget the busy metropolis, while the latter is known as the only area of primary dense forest remaining in Singapore that features extensive flora and fauna. The reserve offers visitors a range of nature walks, mountain bike trails and challenging jungle treks, providing an opportunity to see wide variety of tropical birds and other exotic wildlife.

Apart from the two aforementioned highlights, Bukit Timah also features some of the world's best upscale restaurant strips. Here, visitors can choose from Holland Village, Tanglin Village, Greenwood Avenue – all of which are great spots for shopping, eating, and drinking.
