Getting there: A third party seaplane company operates a scenic 25-minute seaplane transfer from Male International Airport to Banyan Tree Madivaru. Upon confirming your reservation, our team will automatically organize your transfer 48 hours after receiving your booking and seaplane transfer fee will be charged directly to your bill. The seaplanes only operate during daylight hours (6am-4pm). To reach the resort the same day, guests must check in before 16.00 at the seaplane counter. For International departure flights before 9.30am guests will have to arrive in Male one day prior to their departure and stay overnight in Male. Our reservations team will be happy to assist in arranging accommodations in Male for any late arrivals or early departures.
Upon your arrival to Male International Airport our resort team will meet you outside of the arrivals terminal and escort you by shuttle bus to our lounge at the seaplane terminal. Flight times are confirmed by the seaplane company one day prior to departure and you will be notified as to your flight times upon arrival into Male.
Please note as per the seaplane company's terms and conditions, baggage allowance is 20kg and 5 kg hand luggage. Any excess baggage is at an additional charge and will have to be paid directly to the seaplane company at US$ 2.00 per 1 kg per way. At the seaplane company?s discretion your luggage might be delivered on the next flight based on the seaplane payload.
The resort must receive full flight details at least 3 days prior to arrival in order to guarantee the seaplane seats. Failure to do so may result in additional waiting time in the Lounge or an overnight stay in Male at guests' additional cost. There are no guarantees of awaiting time for the seaplane transfer or guarantees that seaplane transfer will be available at the designated time and resort is not liable for any compensation arising from such delays.
