Food in the Mentari is poor for the price charged. Our lunch on the day of arrival was stale .. and we paid 144RM for food much lower in quality that I pay 1/3 in price in a premium food court where i come from.

Overall cleanliness and facility maintenance was good. Solar-heated water system worked well. Clean swimming pools which is not easy to achieve if you have lush vegetation everywhere. A quiet and relaxing place with clean scenic beach. Within walking distance to local shops and restaurants.
However, there are a few points to improve on:
Check-in was not up to the mark as it took the staff 20 min to verify our reservation document. Front desk staff should be aware that guest have travelled quite a distance and are likely to be tired. Some refreshment (e.g. glass of water) would have been a good gesture. There was also only one front-desk staff for check-in which meant that a considerable queue has build up. One of the rooms (112) was smelly and could only be cured with an air freshener. Lastly the tap water had some odour.
