Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's rapidly expanding capital, is at least an hour's drive from the new international airport, so it's recommended you stay in the city centre if you want to explore the capital. Kuala Lumpur (or KL as it is known) has experienced huge growth over the last 10 years and has masses of shopping malls, a remarkably lively nightlife and interesting modern architecture.
