A small landlocked European country holding a long history of Ottoman and cultures in the old centuries, Macedonia has Skopje, the capital featuring many historic landmarks and architectural monuments, and cultural places of interest, Bitola boasting an ancient city, Ottoman monuments, a lovely shopping promenade, while Prilep’s tobacco fields, medieval monasteries, and strange rocks are worth a visit. Macedonia enjoys warm, dry summers and autumns and relatively cold winters with heavy snowfall. Regular train service connects Macedonia to Greece in the South and Serbia in the North.
