Valdonica is a wine-producing estate nestled high in the hills of the Maremma, Tuscany, with exceptional views of the Mediterranean Sea and the island Giglio. In Valdonica’s 200 acres of land you’ll find vineyards, meadows, forests and ponds. And we’re as passionate about our guests as we are about our vineyards and wine.
Valdonica prides itself on having chosen the organic path for wine production. Not only are the vineyards grown using strict organic practices but the winery and guesthouse are built to ensure their impact on the environment is as small as possible. Solar panels, clean burning, hot water heating ensure that energy comes mainly from the sun and from the wood gathered from the surrounding forests.
Our six guest-rooms form part of our new Winery – close enough to be able to experience the day-to-day running of a working winery and yet far enough to ensure a peaceful, comfortable stay. ... [+] More
The rooms are designed in a minimalist style using traditional materials crafted by the finest artisans: Beds are made from ancient, old oak-barrels; bathrobes, linen, towels are hand-made locally. The best that Tuscany can offer.
From your room you can step out onto your private terrace each with a table, bench and deckchairs. Venture further and the roads and paths through Valdonica are perfect for discovering the heart of Valdonica – meet our horses, our sheep; take a wander through acres of our newly planted vineyards… or refresh at our pool, located at the old Manor House a 20 minute walk or a couple of minutes driving away.
Breakfast is prepared for you by Angela and can be enjoyed on your terrace or with other guests around the grand oak table in the kitchen. If you’d like to sample some of Angela’s great Tuscan cooking, dinner can be organised with Angela conjuring up delicious local dishes from wild boar to porcini.
At Valdonica we look forward to welcoming you as a guest and to your return as a friend.
