Fontana di Trevi or Trevi Fountain is the most famous, yet arguably the most beautiful fountain in all of Rome. This impressive monument dominates the small Trevi square located in the Quirinale district. It is at the ending part of the Aqua Virgo, a 19th BC aqueduct bringing water from the Salone Springs (approx 20 km from Rome) and also provides the fountains in the historic centre of Rome with water. The centre of the fountain is Neptune, the god of water. Tossing a coin into the water, is famous and believed to bring one tossed a coin back to Rome.
