Another remarkable suite is the Raden Saleh Suite, dedicated to the famous mid-19th century young Indonesian painter of royal descent, Raden Saleh. Raden Saleh spent almost half of his life wandering through Europe in the royal circles of Europe. Originated from Gresik (East Java), an antique engraved door leads to the living room with two engraved tables influenced by Arabic style and two antique mirrors. A large painting on the wall tells the story of the capture of Pangeran (Prince) Diponegoro in 1830.

The original culture began when young men from China left their home country in search for more prosperous lives in Southeast Asia. These young men settled and married local girls in the islands. Through the years, a new culture was gradually formed. Since the 1950s, the Peranakan lifestyle in Java gradually became harder to find, as more and more old houses were demolished and the contents of these houses were dispersed.
