Great location with views of jungle and forest, 10 mins from centre of Ubud.
Big-sized rooms-Tiny TV, impossible to see.
Breakfast fairly limited, only vegetarian.
Despite being a high-end, fairly expensive hotel, the staff were out to make an extra buck at any opportunity, pushing tours on you all the time.
We were made to wait 30 mins, 2 days in a row for the free shuttle bus into Ubud that goes at set times throughout the day. We were there at 1.55 for the 2 o clock. They finally left at 2.30. On the occasion that we wanted to go 15 mins before the set time, they wanted to charge us for out of hours chauffeur service.
The final thing that really shocked me was upon check out. Our bill was around $500 for 3 nights and when we went to pay by credit card, they converted it back to local currency at such a bad rate that it was going to cost about 15% more. I then negotiated the rate of exchange with the lobby staff and they came back down to a reasonable rate, avoiding an $80 over charge. For such a prestigious hotel i never expected this!!! Also on checking out we were persuaded to take the hotel transport to Seminyak (1.5 hrs away) because it was safer than a local guy off the street despite being 50% more expensive. We agreed and were then told on checking out, we had to pay cash for the taxi... and they sub-contracted it out to one of those cheaper unlicensed cars from the street. Fantastic! All i can say is BEWARE!!!!!
