Art and culture The Resort is built in traditional Balinese style and comprises 32 rooms in 16 single storey lavishly decorated bungalows. All bungalows, the mural decorations and the stone statues in the garden are handcrafted by native artists using local materials such as sandstone, palemanan, wood and bamboo, and fit harmoniously into the lush green tropical gardens. The tropical Garden The North-West of Bali is blessed with a perfect climate for all kinds of tropical trees, plants and flowers. Our 4-ha/10 acres tropical garden offers you a wealth of colourful vegetation varying from palm trees, melati trees, bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani and oleander. Matahari and Pemuteran A good relationship with the locals of the village of Pemuteran has always been essential ? in 1995 Magnus and Parwathi Bauch, owners of Matahari Beach Resort & Spa have initiated the local Kindergarten. The maintenance cost, renovation and financial support are still being provided by Matahari and so we proudly contribute to basic education of the village children and children of Matahari Beach Resort & Spa team. Furthermore an assembly hall ?Bale Dusan? has been built for the local community to hold their community meetings. ?Benih Kasih? in Banyupoh is a home for children of less fortunate families and orphans. Matahari Beach Resort & Spa supports with financial aids. A music teacher has been engaged to nurture the talents of these children, now a group of around 20 children are able to perform as Music group ?Suara Hati ? voice of the heart? and among others entertain our guest with life performance on the stage of Dewi Ramona Restaurant.
