The Patra Bali Resort and Villas

1) As a 5 stars beach resort, I presumed there would probably be a shower in the bathroom but there wasn't one.
2) The shower head for the bathtub doesn't seem to match the top holder as when it is placed on the top to act as a shower, it doesn't spray at a suitable direction. Thus, you'll have to hold on to the shower head on 1 hand when you’re taking a shower, which is tiring.
3) The facilities are situated a little too far from the units far inside and not centralised. Thus, if you are placed in the inner units, it'll take you a while to walk to the main building, the Spa, the swimming pool or the beach, unless you prefer and enjoy a lot of privacy and quietness.
4) F & B are above average but the charges may be considered over-priced especially the room service.
5) The staffs are friendly and welcoming.
6) Overall experience is great.

I think this hotel is long overdue for a renovation. I booked an embassy suite. It was large, but it had zero character, was dirty, and looked like it needed a complete work over. I moved to a smaller room, which seemed to have a bit more character, although it was poor. It smelled of cigarettes and the music and strobe lights at the pool kept me awake most of the night. I also heard air planes flying over head. The airport is right next door, literally. I think it was really poor value, especially for the worn out, run down embassy suite. I will never stay there again, and I have stayed at many hotels in Bali over the years. No return visits from me.
