Bali Masari Villas & Spa is a hotel with a difference and features four one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom luxury villas each with their own private plunge pool beautifully situated overlooking a ravine in the valley of the Petanu River. Facilities include an expansive above-ground pool, a restaurant, a spa and cafe. The resort is situated near Sukawati village and is only fifteen minutes from the heart of Sanur and twenty minutes from Ubud. CHAINSAW HONEYMOON
this was the worst experience I could have. Booked this hotel for my honeymoon because they are in nature, away from any noise or population. Instead of birdsinging in the morning, we were woken up daily by chainsaw noise. In the spa, chainsaw noise also spoilt any chance of relaxation. the general manager more or less responded to the complaint that this is not his problem. very rude. be careful, indonesian owner. when they have your money, you wont get anything back. And to make it worse, the manager knows very well about this problem. we were told by staff that this problem goes on for months. The manager admitted that he had already complaint at the government about this. So he knows very well. But still cons people by not telling them about this problem. I asked to at least get my money back for the 2 hours spa programm, which i interrupted after 20 min due to chainsaw noise. Nothing he can do...Not even an excuse. STAY AWAY!!! My honeymoon was destroyed. And we wanted something special and payed a high price for that ( 220 US$)
There is only one restaurant. As the hotel is tucked away in beautiful nature (would be wonderful without a chainsaw), you have no choice than to eat in the hotel restaurant. They take full advantage of that by charging you horribly high prices, compared to other hotels of this class.
But the worst thing is that the food is bad. Our candle light diner was as well not a good experience. Instead of the ordered tenderloin we got sirloin served, the sauce was wrong and instead of medium rare, it was medium well. The tomato soup did not have much do do with tomatos. The crepes were more like carton than pancakes. At least the appetizer was acceptable. The bottle of wine we had prepaid was not delivered as well. We got only 2 glasses.

Nice place, centrally located between Ubud and Denpasar. Good to stay and move around. To move around is better to hire a car with driver or excursions from hotel. We had a rental car and going around the island was quite exhausting, dangerous and slow. The swimming pool has impressive views and staff is very helpful. Taking especially into account the isolation of the place, and the category of the establishment, free wi-fi should be provided
Beautiful location - off the beaten track but close to everything. We will definitely stay there again.
