Bandhavgarh Hotels

Bandhavgarh was declared a national park in 1968 and has an area of 105sqkm. The park has a large biodiversity and the density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. The park has a large breeding population of panthers and as well as various species of deer and the region once had a large population of white tigers (Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa captured the last known in 1951). This white tiger, Mohan, is now stuffed and on display in the palace of the Maharajas of Rewa. Madhya Pradesh has a subtropical climate. Like most of North India it has a hot, dry summer (April-June) followed by monsoon rains (July-September) and a cool and relatively dry winter.
