The Trocadéro is an area in the 16th arrondissement, situated across the River Seine from the Eiffel Tower. It stands particularly the Palais de Chaillot, which the buildings are decorated with quotations by Paul Valéry, and they now house a number of museums: the Musée national de la Marine (naval museum) and the Musée de l'Homme (ethnology), the Musée ... More> national des Monuments français in the eastern (Paris) wing, from which one also enters the Théâtre national de Chaillot, a theater below the esplanade. Adolf Hitler was once pictured (during the WW II) at the front terrace of the palace with the Eiffel Tower as background. Nearby areas are; Arc of Triumph, Champs Elysees, and Eiffel Tower.
