Croix Rousse Hotels

Croix-Rousse is located in the north of Lyon. It is home to many small silk workshops, which the city was one of the city’s renowned industries in 19th century. The weaving machines and equipments were kept in the buildings created the passageways, called the traboules, scattering around the area. The Croix-Rousse hill became the home of the artists, and the Ecole des Beaux Arts was built on it. The slopes of the hill are also home to many restaurants and bars, where all types of cuisine are to be found. The name Croix-Rousse, the hill which is working, was called the place to show the opposition of another hill nearby, Fourvière, the hill which requests, the site of a great numbers of convents and churches.
