About Songjiang:
Songjiang District of Shanghai has a land area of 604.56 km² and a population of 490,300 as of 2001. Its main town is Songjiang, connected to Shanghai by railway. The buildings in Songjiang's Old Street are at least twice as old as the edifices that tourists flock to see in Zhouzhuang, two hours outside Shanghai. And Songjiang's buildings are much more beautiful. They're in better physical shape than Zhouzhuang's, and are a unique part of Shanghai's history. The Songjiang train station, originally built in 1909, was a well-known example of early 20th century 'Western architecture with Chinese characteristics'. It was a favorite backdrop for films depicting the flight and dislocation of the '30s and '40s.
Serving as China's largest business center and giving a born to multi-cultural metro city with impressive traditions of service and hospitality, Shanghai, luxuriously situated on the estuary of the Yangtze River, always displays every aspect of her unique performance. Known as "the Oriental Paris", Shanghai is a shopper's paradise. Please have a seat, diners, and enjoy one of the world’s finest cuisines. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Jinmao Mansion symbolize international presence of the city while the Shanghai Museum and Shanghai Grand Theatre are evidence of pristine Shanghai.
