The Seagull on the Bund was established in 1984 when he was just a small-scale hotel. But now he is up to a 4-star one, the last renovation of hotel was in 2005.
The hotel is ideally situated in the center of the modern city-Shanghai, nearby the mother river of Shanghai--Huangpu River. This hotel is in a great location if you have a view of the water/Bund. The room was a good size and the water bed was a welcome relief from the hard chinese beds. The hotel is tired and there is no gym despite being advertised. The bar is also closed with the only bar being internal. Alright for a cheap bed, but would not be our first choice next time, whatever the price.
Good hotel, rooms not luxurious but fine, wonderful location on the Bund.
