In 1876, Eduard Sacher founded the Hotel Sacher in Vienna. He was the son of the creator of the Original Sacher-Torte, a unique chocolate cake. Soon after its creation, the Sacher became a world famous meeting point for politicians, artists and the aristocracy. Since 1934, the hotel has been run by the G?rtler family, who is very intent on maintaining the hotel old tradition.

The Hotel Sacher Wien boasts a total of 149 elegant rooms and suites.

On the two new top floors (floors 6 and 7), we are offering 42 contemporary rooms. Designed by interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon in cooperation with Elisabeth G?rtler, these new rooms have a splendid view of the city. Special attention has been given to providing maximum comfort and the latest in technical equipment: the rooms feature wireless LAN, a Dolby Surround system, roof terraces, marble bathrooms with separate shower and toilet as well as two washbasins, under-floor heating, illuminated vanity mirrors and plasma TV.

The 110 traditional rooms which are located on floors 1 to 4 are beautifully furnished too ? elegant furniture, choice antiques and fine fabrics create a warm and luxurious atmosphere. Moreover, beautiful paintings and other decorative pieces of art give each room its own unique character and style.
