Each kitchen has a 2 burner cooktop, pots and pans, an electric frypan, a microwave and all the necessary equipment to make snack and meal preparation easy.
Both shared barbecues face the river.
One-bedroom river cottage
This perfectly located one-bedroom cottage is approached via pebbled pathways, raised garden beds and low stone walls.
When the garden was first planted, the river could be seen from the deck but now it can only be heard; raging along in Winter and squeals of excitement coming from it in Summer.
The front door opens from a verandah into a living room with a wood fire heater. Windows overlook the deck and garden. Glass bricks allow lots fo natural light above the lengthy galley kitchen. A small dining table is a couple of steps from preparation and cooking.
A chunky glazed plant stand near the fire is a reminder of Victoria Street, Richmond and a gold framed painting of paddy fields of a trip to Vietnam.
One-bedroom garden apartment
This cosy three roomed apartment is part of the Tudor style mews building that forms a backdrop to the old gardens. It faces a courtyard with a fountain and entry to it is through a rustic garden gate decorated with large mosaic panels.
The lounge/dining area has a wood fire heater and a small galley kitchen.
The bedroom overlooks the fountain and the ensuite has a 2 person corner spa bath.
Numerous artworks add colour and interest to this lovely apartment. the framed floral prints here are painted by an expat ustralian, Lucille Carter, currently living in England. the originals took 20 hours to draw and 200 hours to paint.
Two-bedroom family cottage.
This comfortable 2 bedroom cottage is ideally suited for a family or 2 couples. Entry from a porch opens into a spacious living/eating/cooking area. A stunning smoke bush grows beside the entrance and a pale pink clematis climbs a supporting post.
The polished floorboards in the bedrooms add to the airy feel of the rooms. Wooden blinds enhance its lightness. A stunning C19th Japanese courtesan's kimono hangs from the wall.
The living areas and bathroom have terra cotta tiles and a feature wall behind one of the leather couches displays a beautiful series of bold botanical prints.
French doors open from this room onto a verandah with a private with a private garden and suitable seating to eat "al fresco". A barrow of wood sits there ready to replenish the wood fired heater inside.
Two-bedroom attic apartment
This spacious upstairs 2 bedroom apartment has the feel of an attic with its sloping ceilings and dormer windows.
The main bedroom has large windows facing an ornatmental flowering cherry - stunning to wake up to in early October. A corner spa bath adds charm to this room.
The second bedroom is smaller with a dormer window. It is very warm and cosy in Winter as it shares a wall with the wood fire heater in the lounge room.
A separate bathroom has a shower and is adjacent to both bedrooms.
The living room opens onto a deck, from which there are glimpses of the river seemingly far below. This is a perfect spot for breakfast and evening drinks - or anytime really.
An old painted dresser and galley kichen are tucked into the walls and are a couple of steps from an extendable dining table.
The art work in this apsrtment is particularly varied, ranging from Chinese embroidered gold fish to aboriginal dot painting.
