Heritage Retreat

The Retreat is a cica 1881 school with river side gardened grounds.

The Retreat was awarded 'Best New Business' and highly commended for 'Tourism & Hospitality' by the District Chamber of Commerce in 2011. To quote the judges the Retreat is "above outstanding". The RIVER WING basks in the soothing babble of water over rocks and that adds to its water -worshipping with a deck side spa bath. Guests can even pop out to their own private croquet lawn. A BBQ on the decking overlooking the pristine river completes the experience.

In the FRENCH WING, a brick round arch connects the bedroom and lounge with surround sound to a gorgeous bathroom, featuring a claw-foot tub and rain shower. A big gourmet kitchen leading to a courtyard with fountain and outdoor dining from the BBQ and a round of bowls completes the provincial French picture.

The SCHOOL HOUSE is an extraordinary melange of New York loft elements including exposed walls and groovy fittings. The floor is graffitied and heated. The large private court yard beckons with outdoor checkers and dining from the BBQ.

Each suite has surround sound with large flat screen television and complimentary DVDs and CDs but by all means bring your favourites.
